![]() ![]() Revolved BOP requires: Deep torso twist, hip compression, open hamstrings, quad strength to stand up & straighten top leg, open shoulders for the bind. This is not an easy pose but through sequencing layers it can help a student understand what is necessary to “achieve” it. Your strap can help you do that securely and safely. ![]() Rememberthis shape is not about grabbing your hand it’s about opening your frontal body as best you can. This will allow you a handle to bind with as you progress through to Bird Of Paradise. My intention is still to be able to progress a student through a series of poses that will help them gain more accessibility to a “Bigger” pose.įirst within my themes I pick a peak pose: Ex, Revolved Bird Of Paradise Simply secure a yoga strap loosely around your waist with a tail hanging down behind you. Kind of like a dance & thus does require an amount of creativity but it's not my main intention to be creative. Although the shape of the pose resembles the namesake Southeast Asian flower, I find that coming into this balancing posture helps us resemble our Highest Self. It is simply applying what you know into a Flow where each movement easily transitions to the next. Certain yoga asanas bring about this feeling of freedom for me, including Svarga Dvijasana (Bird of Paradise), whose Sanskrit names translate to paradise (Svarga) and twice born (Dvija). There's no stopping to go to a wall, no stopping for partner work. A Flow for me is a class that is like a river - continuous. ![]() This is not to be confused with Power Vinyasa. Grokker Yoga Expert, Christy Evans, created this flow to help you. How I sequence a Flow compared to a Hatha/Power based class is different. Open the body and the mind in this playful sequence focusing on bird of paradise. It's just how I do it & by no means am I criticising if you do any different. *Disclaimer: this is not THE way or the ONLY way to sequence. ![]()
